Two Recent Live Songs
This is a video filmed by Mick Murray in which we play Why This Could Never Work Between Us and a new song, Tidal Waves. Thom and I also tune our guitars once or twice, mostly me. It was filmed at a recent show at Great Scott in Allston, MA. This was a tremendously enjoyable night.
See you again soon!

Hello

Hello.
This is a poster for the show we are playing with our dear friends Marconi and Eldridge Rodriguez a week from tomorrow at Great Scott (1.15). The “Bon Boys” will provide “DJ sets” at various points during the evening. KPH promises to only play the new jack swing stuff. Davd was unavailable for comment, which surprised us all. Oh right, so, the Bon Savants will be playing their first Boston show in “a while.” All of the parts and people will be the same, though tempered by experiences in places like Berkeley, Brooklyn, undisclosed locations elsewhere in NY, as well as trusted local spots in the greater Boston metropolitan area. And Florida! What have we been up to in the interim? Well, why not come to Great Scott a week from tomorrow and learn the answers to questions you haven’t had a chance to ask in person! In the interest of time, please keep your questions in T/F format. If there is time, we will say more than “true” or “false.” If there is not, Carl will handle all other inquiries, as is his custom.
There is a rumor that “bootleg copies” of the as-yet-unreleased second Bon Savants album will be available, which is pretty cool, ’cause it’s a damn fine collection of songs and you really should be hearing them in the privacy of your own preferred listening environment already. I mean, the Wrens kinda have this wait a really long time to release another album thing down as their own schtick and while we clearly have nothing against stealing from any number of our heroes, you really have to draw the line somewhere.
We are all looking forward to seeing you and hope you have been in good health during our respective times apart.
Warmest regards,
Kevin

What’s with the minty green color for the site?
Because the band doesn’t have a graphic artist. And the HTML color code spells “BADBAD”, as good a reason as any if you’re visually challenged.
What’s up with Bon Savants?
Thanks for asking. Thom’s still living out west for grad school. The rest of the band is in Boston, filling the void of his absence with other music projects, professional pursuits, lots of biking, and such. It’s a small, shallow void, easy to plug. Bon Savants continue to be the hydroelectric musical powerhouse that you know, they just haven’t played live for a spell. They’ll fix that soon.
When can I hear new recordings?
Today. The first of a series of videos for the recently completed album is about to be posted, along with a temporary free mp3 download and some other material, like alternate and demo versions.
Why do you update online so infrequently?
Most of the band is over 30.

Kevin sent me a link to this video a few months ago with the note: “Make sure volume is turned up.”
My face morphed from confusion to surprise to more confusion (mostly in the eyebrows). We’ve chatted with the folks who made it since then, who report that “The band has a strong and tiny but intensely loving fan following in bombay, india
”
Outstanding.

Between the Moon and the Ocean / Fringe Vid
This is pretty amazing. I don’t watch the show but the vid is nicely edited.
